  • Bolton gets long-awaited redemption at Feldberg SBX World Cup

WINTER SPORTS: Three years after suffering a horrific injury, Cam Bolton has returned to the course that broke his back. But this time, the 28-year-old came away wth his first-ever World Cup gold.

The dual-Olympian qualified in first place and was able to replicate his performance in the final, leading the pack and beating home favourites Paul Berg and Konstantin Schad who claimed silver and bronze respectively for the German hosts.

'I took a lot of confidence out of qualifying in first, however I immediately shifted my focus to the heat racing, which was going to be anothe kettle of fish,' he said.

'Everything came together and I had one of those days when you feel as though you can control everything around you.'

The win is even sweeter given it was the same course Bolton suffering a severe back injury on in 2016.

'It was nice to get some redemption on the course where I broke my back three years ago.

'I'm feeling great on snow and have a terrific team around me. I'm looking forward to building on this result,' he finished.
