Training of military personnel for the Sniper Frontier competition has begun at the EMD training grounds in the Republic of Buryatia

The military personnel of the combined arms formation of the Eastern Military District, stationed in the Republic of Buryatia, have begun training as part of sniper pairs and groups to participate in the Sniper Frontier competition. Officers and instructors will train snipers at the Burduny and Divisionny training grounds in difficult climatic conditions for a month.

During the classes, newly arrived servicemen will learn the rules of individual aiming and target selection from Dragunov sniper rifles (SVD) and Vintorez (VSS) with the use of corrections for high and low atmospheric pressure, crosswind and low temperature regimes.

During the training, using improvised and natural means of camouflage, military personnel will learn how to use modern rangefinders, weather stations, radio stations, intelligence and navigation systems.

The main attention in the training of young snipers in tactical-special and fire training will be paid to camouflage and conducting training combat in pairs and as part of groups.

Several hundred servicemen from the sniper and reconnaissance units of the formation were involved in practical training.

The preparation of sniper pairs and groups will be completed by competitions, the conditions of which are the execution of firing from standard weapons at various targets at ranges from 100 to 1500 meters, including at night.
