PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Sept. 23, 2021) - Pennsylvania American Water announced today the start of construction to replace approximately 1 mile of aging water main in Mount Oliver Borough, Allegheny County, to improve service reliability and fire protection for residents. Work hours are 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work on weekends and evenings is not expected unless required to maintain the project schedule. Completion of these installation projects is expected in late October 2021. Final street restoration will be completed in the Spring of 2022.

This year, Pennsylvania American Water has invested approximately $11 million and replaced more than 7 miles of water main in the following municipalities:

  • Baldwin Borough
  • Bethel Park, Brentwood
  • Carnegie
  • Castle Shannon
  • City of Pittsburgh
  • Finleyville
