Driver License Program Opens Sioux Falls Express Station

PIERRE, S.D. - South Dakota's first-ever Driver License Express Station opened this week in Sioux Falls.

The Express Station is open to all citizens who need any driver license service that does not require testing. The station is located in the Kings Crossing building, 6010 South Minnesota Avenue, Suite 101 in Sioux Falls. A grand opening was held Friday (today).

"This is all about good customer service and helping make it easier to for people to take care of many of their driver license services," said Craig Price, Cabinet Secretary of the state Department of Public Safety. "We appreciate Gov. Kristi Noem and the state Legislature for supporting our proposal in this year's legislative session."

At the Express Station, services include the ability to renew driver's licenses or identification cards and transfer an out-of-state license to a South Dakota license. Testing for a license can be done at the other Sioux Falls exam station, located at 2501 W. Russell St.

The new Express Station will be open each week, Wednesday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Applications must be submitted by 4 p.m.

Those who need to renew driver licenses and identification cards can still do so online, schedule an appointment online or walk into any driver licensing station statewide. The driver licensing website is https://dps.sd.gov/driver-licensing.

The South Dakota Driver License program is an agency of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
