OECD NAEC Virtual conference: A Systemic recovery - Wednesday 28 April 2021 15.00 CET

26/04/2021 - The COVID-19 pandemic has revealed the interconnectedness, complexity and fragility of our global system. To protect ourselves from such crises in the future will involve a systemic rethink of the design, operation and management of our economic system.

Organised as part of the OECD's New Approaches to Economic Recovery (NAEC) initiative, in association with the The Fields Instituteand Rebuilding Macro, a virtual conference from 15.00-18.00 (CET) on Wednesday 28 April 2021 will bring together a range of experts to discuss how to tackle the challenges ahead and accelerate a systemic recovery.

Speakers include:

  • Mark Carney, United Nations Special Envoy for Climate Action Finance
  • Gita Gopinath, Economic Counsellor and Director of the Research Department at the International Monetary Fund (IMF)
  • Paul Krugman, Distinguished Professor of Economics at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York
  • Mariana Mazzucato, Professor in the Economics of Innovation and Public Value at University College London (UCL), and Founding Director of the UCL Institute for Innovation & Public Purpose (IIPP)
  • Kenneth S. Rogoff, Thomas D. Cabot a Professor of Public Policy, Harvard University
