City of Watauga Ramps Up Police Recruiting Efforts with Incentives

The Watauga Police Department continues to enhance its recruitment efforts by offering an incentive bonus of $5,000 for Certified Officers. Experienced Officers are also eligible for lateral entry. Lateral entry allows certified officers to receive a higher starting salary based on their years of experience. The salary range starts at $54,124 and maxes out at $70,619.

Chief Robert Parker says, 'Competition for police candidates is greater now than I have seen in my career. I, along with the men and women of the Watauga Police Department, believe that offering a sign on incentive and lateral entry pay will afford our department an opportunity to recruit the most qualified candidates to fulfill the mission of the Watauga Police Department.'

WPD will be conducting an entrance examination for Certified Police Officers on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at the Watauga Police Department located at 7101 Whitley Road, Watauga, TX 76148.
