President Meloni meets with Labour 7 delegation

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, received a delegation from the Labour 7 at Palazzo Chigi today, the group that brings together trade unions from G7 nations and the EU.

The meeting was attended by: Giulio Romani, Confederal Secretary of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC); Veronica Nilsson, General Secretary of the Trade Union Advisory Committee to the OECD (TUAC); Luc Triangle, General Secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC); Luigi Sbarra, Secretary General of CISL [Italian Confederation of Workers' Unions]; Pierpaolo Bombardieri, Secretary General of UIL [Italian Labour Union]; and, Francesca Re David, Confederal Secretary of CGIL [Italian General Confederation of Labour].

The trade union representatives provided President Meloni with a statement containing recommendations for the G7 Leaders ahead of the Apulia Summit on 13-15 June.
The President of the Council of Ministers outlined the priorities of the Italian Presidency of the G7 regarding labour and social policies, focusing on the main points on the agenda for the Summit in June. In particular, the Italian Presidency intends to draw attention to the impact of artificial intelligence on the labour market and Italy's commitment to professional training and development in order to help workers adapt to the ongoing transitions.
