Bogotá – the Stabat Mater closes the Sacred Music Festival

Sunday, 9 October, marked the close of the 11thedition of the Festival Internacional de Música Sacra de Bogotá, the South American Country's most important sacred music festival. The Italian Embassy in Colombia and the Italian Cultural Institute in Bogotá participated in the event, offering the Festival's public two concerts by the La Terza Pratticaensemble led by Maestro Massimiliano Toni.

La Terza Prattica performed in the Audivi cantum sacrum concert held at the Iglesia de Las Aguas on Saturday, 8 September, at 3 PM: a musical pilgrimage across the Italian music repertory of the 16th century with pieces by Monteverdi, Cavalli and Isabella Leonarda, among others. The ensemble wanted to give a live performance of the compositions recorded for the video concerts offered at the 2020 and 2021 editions of the Festival, when in person attendance to the event was not allowed because of the pandemic emergency.

The Festival closed with a concert on Sunday, 9 October, at 3 PM at the Capilla del Sagrario, where La Terza Prattica played the Stabat Mater by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi and a concerto by Francesco Durante. Both performances were completely sold out and were broadcast live on Canal Capital, Colombia's public TV broadcaster.
