Underground Power - Construction Update

Construction of the South Perth and Hurlingham Underground Power Project will commence on Monday 10 October.

Western Power's contractor Main West will complete the works over an estimated 12-15-month period, with the project expected to be completed by March 2024.

The South Perth and Hurlingham Retrospective Undergrounding Project (RUP) is a partnership between the City, State Government and Western Power. This project will replace overhead power lines with underground power infrastructure to move closer towards the City's vision for underground power in all of its suburbs.

Recently, the City marked the completion of underground power installation in Manning which resulted in 985 wooden poles and 35km of overhead cable removed and 667 LED streetlights installed.
