ECO celebrates Earth Day with butterfly release

NATCHITOCHES - Nina Ovalle of Marrero and students in the Environmental Catalyst Organization spearheaded a community butterfly release at Northwestern State University in celebration of Earth Day Monday, April 22. ECO students also distributed refillable water bottles and t-shirts in conjunction with Love the Boot week that encourages Louisianians from all 64 parishes to organize litter clean-up and beautification events. NSU's Gallaspy College of Education and Human Development will participate in a clean-up Tuesday near Watson Library. Earth Day water bottles and "Love the Boot" clean-up efforts are funded by Keep Louisiana Beautiful.
