National Oil Corporation (NOC) chairman, Eng. Mustafa Sanalla, has convened a meeting in Benghazi with the chairmen and management committees of NOC affiliated companies to discuss the next chapter of the Libyan oil and gas sector, and challenges facing the corporation.
Sanalla stressed the importance of maintaining current cooperation and production levels in service of both the sector and public interest. The NOC chairman reiterated that the security and safety of NOC employees is the corporation's top priority. He also highlighted the importance of fiscal prudence and efforts to reduce operating expenses to maximise public revenue.
The meeting held at the AGOCO headquarters in Benghazi on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 was attended by NOC board members Eng.Abulgasem Shengheer, Mr Jadalla Hamad Alaokali, and Mr Elamari M. Elamari.
Sanalla also expressed his pleasure in returning to Benghazi and attendance for the launch of the Benghazi International Forum and Exhibition of Oil & Gas. He praised the recent achievements and successes of NOC and operating companies across the country, despite ongoing challenges, and addressed his thanks to the workers who continue to deliver in exceptional circumstances at oilfields, ports and operational sites. Their endeavours maintain production, regardless of the cost, thereby ensuring national income and stability across the country.
