The University of Leipzig's Confucius Institute Puts on a 'Confucius Institute Day' With Dresden's Chinese Pavilion Association
For many years the Confucius Institute Day has been a big Chinese cultural event for the locals of Leipzig. On September 21st, The University of Leipzig's Confucius Institute worked together with The Dresden's Chinese Pavilion Association to spread Chinese culture in Germany with a Chinese cultural event.
The event took place in Chinese pavilion outside of Dresden, which also in 1911 was one of the pavilions at the 1st International Sanitation Expo. The pavilion was built in Shang Hai, then dismantled and sent overseas to Germany, and is now the only completely original Chinese architecture left in Germany. This is proof of the long friendship between China and Germany.
The Chinese Confucius Institute Dean, Du Rong, gave opening remarks to start off the event. After the opening ceremony, students form Dresden Middle school gave a presentation on their experience in China in 2018. A reporter and author from a German TV station also gave a speech on Being Close To China，and got many people interested in China.
