'In addition to Hungary, many other European Union countries are now also stressing that mass illegal immigration must be stopped outside the EU's borders', the Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister said on Hungarian M1 television's Friday evening current affairs program.
György Bakondi highlighted: 'We cannot talk about internal security and public safety until border protection is resolved'.
The Chief Advisor also spoke about the fact that that the current European Parliament, which has a pro-immigration majority, would like to introduce irreversible measures that would enable legal mass immigration into Europe prior to the May elections.
On Thursday in Bratislava following the summit of the heads of government of the V4 and Germany, Slovakian Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini announced that the Visegrád Group countries - the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia - will be drawing up a joint programme to curb migration in cooperation with Germany in Morocco.
'Hungary is also contributing financially to Turkey's anti-migration activities, in addition to which we also have joint measures with Poland. Furthermore, Hungary has also given emphasis to its opinion according to which problems must be solved on site and assistance must be provided there, via its Hungary Helps Program', Mr. Bakondi pointed out.
