SPIE is taking over technical facility management for six properties of the RFR Group in Frankfurt am Main

Frankfurt, 09 June 2021 - SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, has been contracted by the RFR Group to take over technical facility management for its Frankfurt property portfolio. The six properties in question include the Westend Gate hotel and office skyscraper, the Cielo high-rise office building, the Bienenkorbhaus in the centre of Frankfurt, the Flare of Frankfurt hotel and retail building, and other mixed-used buildings along the Zeil major shopping street and on Goethestraße.

Technical building management

The six properties have a total area of roughly 135,000 m². Three property teams from SPIE Deutschland & Zentraleuropa with 15 employees are responsible, in addition to property management, for the challenging task of technical building management for practically all the technical facilities in the properties. This includes maintaining and repairing the facilities. Having an on-call service that operates around the clock, 365 days a year enables the multi-technical service provider to respond quickly to potential faults and ensures reliable building operations.

'Our customer appreciates our reliability and service focus, which allow us to meet the individual needs of building users quickly and efficiently while reliably completing all our day-to-day duties as well,' said Andreas Richter, the project team manager at SPIE Deutschland & Zentraleuropa. 'Our well-thought-out bid concept and our solution-oriented mindset are what won us the tender, allowing us to further expand our business with this existing customer - and we're delighted about that,' added Tobias Höhler, Head of Sales South in the Efficient Facilities operational division of SPIE Deutschland & Zentraleuropa.

There is a phased start date for the properties. Before starting any routine operations, SPIE embarks on an extensive start-up phase during which its employees set up all the relevant data on an integrated CAFM system to ensure that facility management processes can operate digitally, which also helps to ensure efficient building operations.

Trusting partnership

The multi-technical service provider has been managing the RFR Group's properties in Berlin, with a total area of around 40,000 m², since 2019. The established customer has now confirmed its trust in SPIE by expanding its business to include properties in Frankfurt am Main. 'We see ourselves not just as a service provider for our customers, but also as an experienced solutions partner - we focus on providing services from a single source that are tailored precisely to the specific requirements of the customer at all times,' said Frank Piroth, in charge of the contract as the South Main branch manager in the Efficient Facilities operational division.
