I don't always buy flowers, but I when I do, it’s from a permitted flower vendor

News Date:

Code Enforcement staff responds to various complaints throughout the City including street vendor enforcement. Street vendors include flowers, goods, wares or merchandise, and ice cream. The City requires vendor permits from our Engineering Division to ensure the vendors oblige to the rules and regulations in place to keep the residents of the City safe. For example, Setback requirements were established to promote safety in hazardous locations and intersections. Failure to comply to theses rules and regulations may result in a citation from one of our Code Enforcement Officers.

Code Enforcement staff are trained to help and inform vendors on a pathway to compliance. When you see our Code Enforcement staff out doing their job, just remember we are there to help and educate vendors to follow the rules and regulations, which are again designed to keep our City safe.

If you are interested in becoming a vendor, please see out website Street Vendor Permit | City of Salinas

Here we see Code Enforcement Officer Matt Pierce verifying the status of a flower vendor. CEO Pierce made contact with a flower vendor to introduce himself and educate on rules and regulations of our ordinance.
