Oceans of Possibilities Summer Reading Club

Join the Richardson Public Library's Summer Reading Club. Children will keep track of their reading with an official reading log. Read books and earn prizes and raffle entries to win a grand prize. Every 10 books or 10 reading hours equals one raffle entry.

Darbey's Storywalk®

Enjoy the June edition of Darbey's Storywalk®. It is all about movement and reading, as it enables visitors to walk along a designated path behind the Library while reading pages of a children's book posted at 16 different stations. This months' featured book is titled "Jabari Jumps" by Gaia Cornwall. This is a sweet and simple story about a young boy who has recently learned to swim and is both excited and nervous about taking a dive off the high board. It takes courage to try new things, but it's fun to make a big splash when you're successful.

Bush Central Barkway

Keeping in mind the recent hot daytime temperatures, Parks and Recreation wants to remind dog owners that Richardson's dog park, Bush Central Barkway, is open late. It provides an opportunity to get outside with your pup in "cooler" evening temperatures. The award-winning, six-acre park includes separate areas for large, small and sedentary dogs as well as an event paddock for party rental.

Sprinkler Secrets - What the Spray!

The North Texas Municipal District and Texas A&M AgriLife are hosting a virtual lunch and learn series on lawn care and irrigation. In this class, learn more about what sprinkler systems do, how they work and how much water you might really be putting on your lawn. Attendees will have the opportunity to get to know their irrigation system controller, with tips on how to program their system to match with WaterMyYard recommendations.
