MLB Boardroom Has No Business Meddling in Election Law

Today, Congressman Jody Hice (R-GA), who serves as the Ranking Member for the House Oversight Committee's Subcommittee on Government Operations, joined House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Jim Jordan (R-OH) and House Oversight Committee Ranking Member James Comer (R-KY) in sending a letter to Major League Baseball Commissioner Robert Manfred blasting the organization for inserting themselves in the debate around Georgia's election law.

'The Left's toxic 'cancel culture' has seeped into America's corporate boardrooms, and 'woke' executives should be held accountable for perpetuating falsehoods and pushing bogus political narratives to the detriment of hardworking Americans,' said Congressman Hice. 'The decision by Major League Baseball to move the All-Star Game punished Georgians, and folks deserve to understand why.

'If the MLB truly wants to insert itself into debates on election integrity, they ought to start by actually reading Georgia's voting law rather than relying on intellectually dishonest talking points spewed by liberal activists and Democratic politicians. When the MLB decides to finally do their homework, they will quickly find that Georgia's voting laws remain less restrictive and more accessible than many other states - including Colorado, the new location of the All-Star Game, and New York, the home of MLB headquarters.'
