Cities of Eugene and Springfield Honor EMS Professionals through EMS Week Proclamations

National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week celebrates its 47th year during the week of May 15 - 21, 2022. EMS Week highlights the dedicated individuals committed to providing quality emergency medical care to their community 24 hours per day, seven days per week. EMS teams engage in thousands of hours of specialized training and continuing education to enhance their lifesaving skills.

City of Eugene's Mayor Lucy Vinis announced the proclamation and observation of EMS week during the May 9, 2022, City of Eugene City Council meeting. The City of Springfield's Mayor Sean VanGordon will announce the same proclamation of EMS Week at the City of Springfield's City Council meeting on May 16, 2022.

Eugene Springfield Fire will be observing EMS Week through actions of gratitude for EMS staff and activities for the community to participate in.
