NORTH AMERICAN INVESTMENT CORPORATION

Tortola, British Virgin Islands - 28 September 2022 - The British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission(the "FSC") considers it necessary to issue this Public Statement in order to protect the customers, creditors or persons who may have been solicited to conduct business by NORTH AMERICAN INVESTMENT CORPORATION (the "Company") and to make the general public aware that the entity has never been licensed or regulated by the FSC to carry on any type of financial services business.

The details are:

NORTH AMERICAN INVESTMENT CORPORATION is falsely purporting to be an active BVI company entitled to conduct business, including the provision of services to, or dealing with, the general public. The Company is not licensed by the FSC to conduct investment or any other type of regulated financial services business. Investment business is a regulated activity and may only be carried out by a BVI company which is licensed and regulated by the FSC to conduct investment business.

The FSC hereby informs the public that:

  • NORTH AMERICAN INVESTMENT CORPORATION is not and has never been licensed or regulated to carry on investment business or any other regulated financial services business.
  • The Company entered voluntary liquidation on 24 July 2008 and was dissolved on 12 August 2008 on completion of the liquidation.
  • The Company was restored to the Register on 18 March 2013 when a liquidator was appointed to deal with the outstanding assets of the Company.
  • The Company was subsequently struck from the BVI Register of Companies on 1 November 2013 for non-payment of its annual licence fees and was dissolved on 31 October 2020.

Whilst a BVI company is struck off, under BVI legislation it is prohibited from dealing with its assets or from acting in any way with respect to the affairs of the Company.

Members of the public are advised to exercise extreme caution if solicited at any time to conduct business with NORTH AMERICAN INVESTMENT CORPORATION. The public is invited to provide the FSC with any relevant information on any questionable entities which are purportedly operating in or from within the Territory and on any improper activities engaged in by such entities.

The FSC has issued this Public Statement pursuant to Section 37A of the Financial Services Commission Act,2001.
