Today (May 11, 2021), the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Ingrid Brocková, took part in the third meeting of the Working Group for a coordinated presentation of Slovakia abroad at the level of state secretaries. In her introductory remarks, she expressed her appreciation for the establishment of an umbrella agency for the support of tourism 'Slovakia Travel' with its head, the Director General, Václav Mika. She also highlighted the importance of close inter-ministerial cooperation when organising key presentation events in the forthcoming period, such as the upcoming summer Olympic Games in Tokyo (July 23 - August 8) or the World Expo in Dubai (October 1, 2021 - March 31, 2022). All these events have a potential to contribute significantly to the visibility of our country abroad.

'I greatly welcome today's debate on the vision of the development and support of tourism in Slovakia and on its main challenges and opportunities. I particularly welcome the emphasis which is given to the work with data and analytical tools with the aim of creating an appropriate strategy for the development of tourism,' concluded the State Secretary. The Commissioner General for EXPO Dubai, Miroslava Valovičová, presented the current status of the preparations of the Slovak pavilion for the upcoming world EXPO Dubai, and the Secretary General of the Slovak Olympic and Sports Committee, Jozef Liba, provided information about the summer Olympic Games in Tokyo and also about other Olympic sports events during the years 2021-2022.

The diplomatic service manages the activities of the Working Group for a coordinated presentation of Slovakia abroad. This Group holds meetings that bring together, at the working level, the representatives of the different ministries and agencies. The aim of these meetings at the level of state secretaries is to hold a strategic discussion about a coordinated presentation of Slovakia abroad and on the implementation of Slovakia's brand 'Good Idea Slovakia.'
