Track and Field Picks Up First-Ever Medals At Penn Relays

The last day of the Penn Relays were memorable for several members of the NJIT track and field team.

Freshman and the men's 4x400 Relay group of , , and earned NJIT's first-ever top-five members in the event on Saturday evening.

Lindinger-Asamoah was the first to medal Saturday after his leap of 14.75m / 48-4.75 in the Triple Jump slotted him fourth overall in the College Championship.

The 4x400 Relay lineup added medal number two and improved on Lindinger-Asamoah's first by coming in as runners-up in a race that saw the top three teams cross the finish line within 0.48 seconds of each other.

The women's 4x400 relay had reached Saturday's final as well but were scratched as a precaution.

NJIT will take part in the America East Outdoor Championships in Baltimore at UMBC next weekend (May 4-5).
