April 25, 2024 14:30 KST

Good afternoon. Let me start today's briefing.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Tae-yul will attend the sixth ROK-Australia Foreign and Defense Ministers' (2+2) Meeting scheduled to be held in Australia on May 1.

In the upcoming meeting, which comes three years after the last one, the two sides will discuss ways to further strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Korea and Australia, which share values as like-minded countries in the region.

They will also exchange views on a range of issues, including the two countries' Indo-Pacific strategies, defense and the defense industry, and the situations on the Korean Peninsula and in the region.

Moving on, Foreign Minister Cho will meet with Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis on April 26.

The two ministers will assess Korea-Lithuania relations, which have continuously developed since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1991, and exchange views on issues of mutual interest, including regional issues.

(A question-and-answer session followed.)
