Press statement on Guinea Conakry

The Government of Spain backs the call by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), urging the armed forces to return to their barracks and to respect the integrity of President Alpha Condé and proceed to his immediate release and the restitution of his constitutional functions.

The Spanish Embassy in Guinea Conakry is in contact with Spanish residents there, who are currently fine, but recommends that they do not leave their homes.
