Slippery Rock University is hosting a panel discussion about population health, April 25.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Slippery Rock University is hosting a panel discussion with population health experts at 6 p.m., April 25, at the Smith Student Center Ballroom. The expert panelists will discuss how population health is transforming the health care sector.
The event is free and open to the public.
Population health is an approach that focuses on the health status and health outcomes within a group of people rather than considering the health of one person at a time.
All four panelists are leaders in the region's health care sector, including two SRU alumni. They include:
The event is sponsored by SRU's Health Care Administration and Management Department, the College of Health Professions and the Future Health Care Leaders of SRU student organization.
"In today's health care environment, social determinants of health care have taken center stage," said David Jordan, SRU professor of health care administration and management, "Population health initiatives are inexorably intertwined with social determinants. That's why the topic of the panel is so important and we're grateful to have these leaders from our region on campus to discuss population health."
