RCMP arrest male after responding to a break and enter

On April 24, 2022, at approximately 6:50 am, Selkirk RCMP responded to a break and enter at a residence on Highway 9, in the RM of St. Andrews.

A homeowner reported that a male suspect had attempted to gain entry into his home, however he was unsuccessful. The suspect subsequently broke into a detached garage on the property. A short time later he fled on foot.

When officers arrived it was determined that the male may be at a business across the street from the residence.

Officers attended the business and located the male suspect inside the bathroom. He was subsequently arrested.

Jordan Blahitka, 26, from Selkirk has been charged with Breaking and Entering with Intent, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Fail to Comply x3. He was remanded into custody.

Selkirk and Red River North RCMP, continue to investigate.
