Introducing “The Interview,” A New Weekly Interview Franchise From The New York Times

Last year, The Times announced the creation of a new interview franchise that will provide readers and listeners with intimate, in-depth conversations with the world's most fascinating people. Today, we're thrilled to unveil "The Interview," launching Saturday, April 27.

Each week, hosts David Marchese and Lulu Garcia-Navarro talk to compelling, influential figures in culture, politics, business, sports and beyond - illuminating who they are, why they do what they do and how they impact the rest of us.

"Some of the people we are interviewing will be household names, others are people who are incredibly influential in surprising parts of our culture. All of them will be fascinating and will have the space to reveal themselves with nuance," Lulu said.

"The Interview" is a collaboration between the Audio team and The New York Times Magazine. Interviews will be published as a podcast for those who want to listen, and also as a text Q. and A. for those who prefer to read.

"The long-form interview is as intimate - and engaging - a format of journalism as there is, and being able to share these conversations in both audio and text versions is incredibly exciting," David said.

"We're creating a new platform for people to hear directly from many of the world's most important and interesting public figures in their own words," said Sam Dolnick, deputy managing editor. "David and Lulu are masters of the art of the interview, each with a distinctive style and approach, and we're excited to showcase their work both as a podcast and in text so we can reach as many people as possible."

The first two interviews will be published on April 27, with new interviews dropping weekly on Saturdays. Listeners can subscribe wherever they get their podcasts, and readers can find text Q. and A.s online and in The New York Times Magazine.
