Brookfield Properties' approach to creating and operating iconic mixed-use commercial projects is predicated on a key central theme: placemaking. This commitment to creating experiential destinations that appeal to the changing needs and preferences of consumers is integral to our development philosophy and inspires us to design unique, inviting, and memorable spaces. Food and beverage is a core component of placemaking, and transforming retail centers into dining destinations has become an essential part of our redevelopment strategy. By focusing on one of our customer's primary needs - food - we can design new gathering spaces that grab the attention of hungry customers, while breathing new life into their surrounding city.
We're taking our passion for placemaking to downtown LA, where we're playing a part in DTLA's urbanization and enhancing the cultural center of Bunker Hill. Brookfield Properties is in the process of redeveloping Halo, the retail component of the Wells Fargo Center. Through this redevelopment, Halo will offer 65,000 square feet of retail opportunities, coupled with generous seating options, lively gathering spaces, and regular arts programming. A key highlight of Halo is its next-generation food hall* which will feature local and national quick-service restaurant concepts, indoor-outdoor seating, a full-service bar, and dine-in spaces for each restaurant operating within the space.
The redevelopment of Halo and the creation of an innovative dining destination is a step in the right direction to modernize Downtown LA and make a positive impact on the 64,000 residents that call that area home. Here's a look at the culinary tastemakers that are part of Halo's 2020 food hall line-up:
