AQUA to Replace Water Main on Glenhardie Road Beginning May 6th

Aqua Pennsylvania has initiated a project for the replacement of 375 feet of water main on Glenhardie Road in Tredyffrin Township beginning Monday, May 6th for approximately 4 weeks (weather dependent). The existing water main will be replaced with 8-inch Ductile Iron Pipe (DIP), 8-inch C-900 Polyvinyl Chloride Pipe (PVC), and 8-inch High Density Polyethylene Pipe (HDPE). Additionally, approximately 122 feet of 4-inch Ductile Iron (DI) will be used to transfer affected services. The work will take place within the existing roadway. The new water main will be installed under an existing 14-foot- wide stone arch culvert with no bottom that will be replaced with a 24-foot-wide precast arch culvert with no bottom carrying Trout Creek. Please note the following:

  • AQUA's waterline work will be localized to the intersection of Richards Road and Glenhardie Road to the Pennsylvania Turnpike Overpass Bridge.
  • Glenhardie Road from Colonel Dewees Road to Richards Road remains closed due to the on-going Pennsylvania Turnpike Bridge work planned through the end of May.
  • Glenhardie Road will remain closed, as the Township plans to start the Glenhardie Bridge Replacement this summer.

Aqua Pennsylvania is aware of the importance of maintaining access to the resident on Glenhardie Road during construction activities. If you have any questions or require any additional information, please feel free to contact Elias Bakhash, Project Manager at 610-645-4270 or [email protected].
