The Tulsa Regional Chamber was named one of nine Oklahoma entities certified as a Center for Workforce Excellence by the Oklahoma Department of Commerce. Centers for Workforce Excellence are certified, localized collaborations that meet and exceed superior workforce development standards under the department's Oklahoma Works Together program, a statewide strategic framework to make Oklahoma a top 10 state in economic development. Certified organizations provide a point of contact within each identified region and serve existing and prospective employers' workforce needs by coordinating resources and services.
'This certification as a Manufacturing Center for Workforce Excellence allows us to build upon our current focus of work in a strategic, collaborative approach with area businesses, educational institutions and other partner agencies,' said Rue Ramsey, the Chamber's vice president of workforce and talent strategies. 'This program positions our state to be a leader in workforce development strategies, ensuring we have the skilled talent needed for continued growth and post-pandemic recovery.'
