Appeal to locate elderly woman missing from Sydney's west

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate an elderly woman missing from Sydney's West.

Fernanda Sauer, aged 85, was last seen at her home on Slender Avenue, Smithfield, about 7.40pm yesterday (Thursday 18 August 2022).

When Fernanda could not be located or contacted, officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries into her whereabouts.

Serious concerns are held for her welfare, as she lives with dementia and due to her age.

Fernanda is described as being of Caucasian appearance, of thin build, with brown eyes and long white hair. She uses a walking frame to walk.

She was last seen wearing black pants, blue sheepskin slippers, a black hoodie, grey and black beanie and reading glasses.

Fernanda is known to frequent the Smithfield and Fairfield Heights areas.
