Board Proclaims April as Pennsylvania 811 Safe Digging Month

Cranberry and safety are synonymous, with Township officials placing heavy emphasis on protecting staff and the community at large.

During the March 28 Board of Supervisors meeting, the Board proclaimed April 2024 as Pennsylvania 811 Safe Digging Month.

Pennsylvania 811 is a utility notification information center available to residents and contractors aimed at preventing incidents during digging. When contacting 811 at least three business days before digging, the program notifies the appropriate underground utility operators in the municipality in which the work will be performed. Crews then mark the approximate location of the underground lines with flags and paint to ensure a safe project.
