Lottie was welcomed at Kent Enviropower by FCC Environment, Performance Team Leader, Mar Martinez Casas, who commented: "It is fantastic to host Lottie at Kent Enviropower. At FCC Environment we are keen to highlight the different careers that are available and inspire more women to enter the profession.

"Research has shown that the UK has the lowest proportion of female engineers in Europe, and the waste and recycling industry is particularly male dominated - just 15.8 per cent of the workforce is female and these roles are mainly in services or administration."

At Kent Enviropower, FCC Environment processes up to 500,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste, generating up to 43MW of power, 34MW of which goes into the local electricity supply network to reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
