County Executive Meyer recognized by Goodwill of Delaware and Delaware County with Community Partner

WILMINGTON - Today, New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer on behalf of New Castle County was recognized by Goodwill of Delaware and Delaware County at Goodwill's annual Inspiration Awards Luncheon. New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer was recognized with the Community Partner of the Year award.

The event celebrates Goodwill's program participants and team members, businesses, and community organizations making a difference through their inspiring stories and service. Honorees included the Delaware Department of Labor and Goodwill team member Michael DeRemer, who was recognized for his 50 years of service.

The annual award is given by Goodwill in recognition of creative collaborative efforts between community organizations and Goodwill, this award recognizes an organization that has partnered with Goodwill to provide a service or services to the community and/or helps support Goodwill's mission.

"We are honored to receive this recognition from Goodwill of Delaware and Delaware County," said County Executive Meyer. "We value our partnership with Goodwill and we know that staffing our hundreds of COVID-19 test sites in 2020 and 2021 would not have been possible without the help of the Goodwill workforce. Their service was critical to being able to get COVID tests to thousands of County residents when we most needed them."
