13 May 2022
On 12 May, an atmospheric front passed over the territory of the Bryansk, Kursk, Orel and Smolensk regions, accompanied by a storm wind reaching 27 m/s in places, thunderstorms and heavy rains with hail.

As a result of the adverse weather events, emergency power outages occurred in a number of settlements.

In the Bryansk and Kursk regions, 247 power lines and 1,271 transformer substations were de-energized, supplying more than 400 settlements with a population of more than 40,000 people.
Employees of Bryanskenergo and Kurskenergo were mobilized in advance and provided with all the necessary forces and means to eliminate technological violations. A high alert mode was introduced in the branches of Rosseti Centre PJSC, and later, by the decision of the Headquarters, a special mode of operation was introduced.

The built, constructive dialogue within the framework of interdepartmental interaction with the Main Directorates of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia and close interaction with the authorities and Unified Call Centre allowed the power engineers to quickly receive information about technological violations, responding and eliminating them as quickly as possible.

Temporary information centres for work with the population were quickly deployed.

To eliminate the consequences of failures in the Bryansk and Kursk regions, a total of 304 emergency recovery crews are involved, including 1,210 people and 417 vehicles.

Also, additional forces and means from Belgorod, Voronezh, Lipetsk, Ryazan, Smolensk, Tambov and Tver were quickly sent to the Bryansk region - a total of 35 crews.

First of all, socially significant institutions and communal infrastructure facilities were powered.

Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre, PJSC - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga region, PJSC, emphasized: "The power engineers met the adverse events at a high level and reacted to their consequences without delay. A redeployment of forces and means from other regions was made to speed up the course of emergency recovery measures. Employees of the companies work around the clock until the complete restoration of the power supply to the residents".
