COVID-19 Vaccination for Children 5-11 Years Old

At present, CDC recommends everyone 12 years and older should get a COVID-19 vaccination to help protect against COVID-19. Children 12 years and older are able to get the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. People who are fully vaccinated can resume activities that they did prior to the pandemic. Learn more about what you and your child or teen can do when you have been fully vaccinated.

Children who are unvaccinated should continue to wear a mask in public spaces and around people they don't live with.

The FDA has not yet authorized a COVID-19 vaccine for children 5 to 11 years of age, and CDC's ACIP has not yet made a recommendation on vaccinating this age group. CDC will update this webpage when new information is available.
