Deputy Secretary of State John J. Sullivan met with Peruvian Vice Foreign Minister Hugo de Zela yesterday in Washington, D.C. The Deputy Secretary and the Vice Foreign Minister discussed Peru's key role in the Lima Group to support the restoration of democracy in Venezuela and the interim presidency of Juan Guaido. They also discussed Peru's efforts to address the flow of Venezuelan refugees and migrants, as well as several bilateral issues, including cooperation on countering transnational organized crime and corruption.
