Statement by H.E. Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand in response to News of the Release of former State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi and former President Win Myint

Today, H.E. Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, responded to the news of the release of former State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi, and former President Win Myint as follows:

The Thai Government welcomes the reports that former State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi, and former President Win Myint have been moved from prison to their homes as a positive step in responding to the concerns of the international community. The Thai Government calls on the State Administration Council of Myanmar to take further positive steps in this direction leading to their immediate full release in order to advance the implementation of the ASEAN Five-points consensus.
