President Biden Delivers for Central New York Under the CHIPS and Science Act

Biden, Joined by Governor Hochul and Senator Schumer, Announces $6 Billion in Funding for Micron

NEW YORK -Today, President Biden joined Governor Hochul and Senator Schumer in Syracuse, NY to announce $6 billion in funding under the CHIPS and Science Act for Micron. Micron's total investment will be the largest private investment in New York history and was made possible by Governor Hochul's Green CHIPS legislation and the bipartisan CHIPS and Science Act which are providing federal grants and tax credits.

New York Democrats' support of the CHIPS and Science Act paved the path for a new generation of growth and prosperity for Central New York and today's announcement is a major step forward in Micron's progress. Micron's historic planned investment of up to $100 billion over the next two decades is expected to create nearly 50,000 New York jobs and millions of dollars in community benefits and ensures the United States is a leader in global chip manufacturing.
