Quebec woman arrested under Leandra's Law

On October 20, 2019, at approximately 3:30 p.m., State Police conducted a traffic stop on I-87 northbound in the town of Beekmantown, on a 2012 Toyota for failure to keep right. The operator, Johanne Boisclair, 41, of Lasalle, Quebec, Canada, was subsequently arrested for DWI. Three children, ages 9, 11, and 13, were passengers in Boisclair's vehicle. Boisclair refused to take a chemical test to determine her blood alcohol content. She was charged with three counts of Aggravated DWI under Leandra's Law (felony). She was arraigned in the Town of Beekmantown Court and remanded to the Clinton County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond.
