China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) issued Notice No. 123, Supervision and Administration Provisions on Children Cosmetics, on October 8, 2021. This newly released regulation consists of 22 articles. The followings requirements are highlighted:
This new regulation will enter into force on January 1, 2022, with the exception of the new labeling requirements for children's cosmetic products - which will come into force on May 1, 2022.
From May 1, 2022, the notifier or registrant of children's cosmetic products shall follow the labeling requirements in this regulation. If the children's cosmetic products have been notified or registered before May 1, 2022, the notifier or registrant shall update the product label according to this new requirement before May 1, 2023.
