McHenry Slams Democrats’ Reckless Tax-and-Spend Scheme

Today, the top Republican on the House Financial Services Committee, Patrick McHenry (NC-10), released the following statement after voting against Democrats' reckless tax-and-spend reconciliation bill:

"Today, House Democrats voted to raise taxes on hardworking Americans to fund their far-left agenda-all under the guise of so-called 'inflation reduction,'" said Republican Leader McHenry. "Non-partisan analyses from the Congressional Budget Office and the Penn-Wharton Budget Model found this bill will not meaningfully lower inflation. Additionally, this radical legislation will weaponize the IRS with 87,000 new agents to nickel and dime middle-class families. I'm proud to stand up for American taxpayers and vote NO on Democrats' tax-and-spend scheme."
