GAME 1 | Arizona 7, Northern Iowa 6
The UNI Panthers fell 7-6 in an eight-inning matchup to the Arizona Wildcats Friday.
Freshman (1-3) came out of the bullpen for UNI (3-3) and took the loss. The right-hander went two innings, giving up one run on two hits, allowing two walks and striking out two.
Senior led the way offensively for the Panthers, going 1-for-4 in the ballgame with a home run and an RBI. Senior furnished a noteworthy performance at the dish as well, going 1-for-2 with a double, two walks and an RBI. Senior also contributed, going 2-for-3 for UNI with an RBI.
The Panthers got on the board immediately, starting their scoring in the first inning. Bunch put UNI on the board with a leadoff home run off senior Alyssa Denham.
The Panthers lost the lead they built in the first, but got back on the board in the second trailing 2-1. UNI managed to push across two runs in the inning, which brought the score to 3-2 in favor of the Panthers.
UNI kept Arizona scoreless before expanding their lead to 4-2 the following inning. The Panthers recorded a run on Opiola's two-out RBI double.
The Wildcats gained ground, closing the gap to 4-3 until UNI added some insurance in the fifth. The Panthers scored once on an RBI single off the bat of Kohl, bringing the score to 5-3 in favor of UNI.
Arizona then mounted a comeback, taking a 6-5 lead heading into the sixth, when the Panthers tied up the game at six. Senior came across to score the lone run of the inning for UNI and get them on the board. Arizona then scored one time over the remaining two innings to break the tie and grab the 7-6 win.

The UNI Panthers struggled on Friday, falling to the Oklahoma Sooners 10-2 despite the efforts of senior , who went 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI.
Freshman (1-4) got the ball to start for UNI (3-5) and took the loss.
In the batter's box, the Panthers were led by Chesser, who went 1-for-2 on the day with a double, a walk and an RBI. Sophomore furnished a noteworthy effort as well, going 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Trailing 5-0, the Panthers first put runs on the board in the third inning. UNI plated a run on a based-loaded walk by Chesser.
The Sooners expanded their lead to 6-1 before the Panthers offense got back to work, cutting into that lead in the sixth. UNI scored once on an RBI single off the bat of Shaffer, which brought the score to 6-2 in favor of the Sooners. The ballgame ended with that sixth inning rally falling short.
