Law360 Honors Two Dechert Partners in Paris as MVPs of the Year
Two Paris-based Dechert LLP partners have been selected as MVPs of the Year for 2021 by leading legal publication Law360. Each year, the publication names just a handful of lawyers per practice area across a range of legal disciplines. Those selected as MVPs are judged to have achieved the biggest wins or made the most significant contributions to their practice groups in the past year.
The Dechert partners named to this year's list are:
Tax - Sabina Comis, Paris-based partner and one of the few French practitioners able to offer sophisticated tax advice and handle the legal and regulatory side of fund formation. Ms. Comis advises French and international companies, family offices, and private equity funds on domestic and international tax structuring that arises from complex corporate transactions, restructurings and refinancings, often involving multiple sponsors. Long ranked as a "Leading Individual" in Chambers Europe and The Legal 500 EMEA, Ms. Comis was recognized as "Tax Lawyer of the Year" by Euromoneyin June and was recently appointed to Dechert's global Policy Committee and to the three-person management committee that oversees the firm's Paris office.
International Arbitration - Eduardo Silva Romero, Paris-based partner and co-chair of Dechert's global international arbitration practice. A former Deputy Secretary General of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, Mr. Silva Romero has long been a favored choice as lead counsel for disputes involving States and State entities, particularly in Latin America-related cases. Since joining Dechert's Paris office in 2005, he has built a diverse and multinational team that works closely with international arbitration partners in Brussels, Washington, D.C., and Singapore. He was previously named a Law360 MVP of the Year in 2016.
