We know how much quality green spaces matter to residents and visitors, and this award celebrates the dedication that goes into maintaining the Felixstowe Seafront Gardens to such a high standard.

The renovation and refurbishment of the Seafront Gardens was a major investment for the Council, but it has proved money well spent.

We are committed to continuing to build on this success to help create a vibrant environment in Felixstowe for visitors and local people alike.'

Felixstowe Seafront Garden has also received the much coveted additional Green Heritage Site Accreditation for the management of the historic features.

The refurbishment of the Seafront Gardens is just one of the improvements in Felixstowe which has seen the number of visitors to the town grow by an estimated 20% since 2016.

International Green Flag Award scheme manager Paul Todd said: 'It's fantastic that we have more Green Flag Awards in the UK than ever before, joined this year by 131 International winners.'

'Each flag honours the thousands of staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to maintain the high standards demanded by the Green Flag Award. We congratulate each and every winner on their fantastic achievement.'
