MEDIA ADVISORY: Metro joins Rosslyn BID to host ribbon cutting for new pop-up art exhibit

For immediate release: May 17, 2024

Metro in partnership with the Rosslyn Business Improvement District (BID) will celebrate the creations of eight local artists as part of a new pop-up art exhibit at the Rosslyn Station, Wednesday, May 22, 2024. The new Rosslyn initiative, Art Elevated, aims to infuse the Metro experience in Rosslyn with creativity and inspiration, turning a functional construction site into a canvas for local artistic expression.

The ribbon cutting event for the project will be attended by local community partners, including the Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington, Arlington Artists Alliance, and the sponsor, American Real Estate Partners and Rosslyn City Center, located directly above the Metro.

The vibrant art installation will adorn the eight-foot construction panels surrounding the station's entrance escalators. The curated series of artworks selected to beautify the barriers will enhance the visual appeal and customer experience inside the Rosslyn Station.

This is the Metro Art in Transit's fourth construction project to incorporate art and features more artists than any previous installation.
