Bring eclipse glasses at UAB Solar House from April 15 through May 1

The Solar House at the University of Alabama at Birmingham is collecting eclipse glasses to mitigate waste starting April 15 through May 1.

This green initiative by UAB Sustainability will send the collected glasses to schools in Latin America so students there can watch the next solar eclipse. The collection drive directly supports UAB Sustainability's neighborhood project demonstrating how we can easily incorporate sustainability into our daily lives.

The UAB Solar House, located at 1637 11th Ave. South, is a 1,000-square-foot house, powered by the sun, that students designed and built to maximize energy efficiency in 2017. It is open to public; book a tour here.
