How Corrections Professionals Help People on the Road to Rehabilitation

National Correctional Officers and Employees Week (NCOEW)-celebrated this year May 5-11-is a time to recognize all the dedicated corrections professionals who devote their lives to public safety and helping justice-involved people rehabilitate.

NCOEW was established in 1984 when the federal government recognized the essential role that corrections professionals play in our country. Each year, CoreCivic pauses to reflect on the multitude of ways Team CoreCivic-and other fellow corrections professionals in service nationwide-positively impacts our communities and those entrusted to our care.

Whether serving as a correctional officer, teacher, chaplain, maintenance worker, health care professional, counselor, or a facility leader, every single role in a correctional facility is important to helping people who are on the road to rehabilitation.
