Clarksville Fire Rescue hosts ribbon-cutting for new Headquarters

On Saturday morning, May 4, Clarksville Fire Rescue, led by CFR Chief Freddie Montgomery, hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the new Headquarters and Training facility at 821 Franklin St.

In remarks, Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts said of the new two-story, 20,000-square-foot building, "It's a beacon that CFR has arrived and we've entered a new era."

A large gathering of state and local officials including members of the Clarksville City Council, current and former CFR employees, and City employees, among others, toured the new building.

It features classrooms, administrative space, and in a surprise announcement, an auditorium named in honor of Mayor Pitts and featuring First Lady Cynthia Pitts, also.

With a 280-member workforce, CFR has long-since outgrown its former structures. CFR conducts much of its internal training in-house, saving the City time and money.

"This facility is the centerpiece of Clarksville Fire Rescue," said Chief Montgomery, who principally hosted the event.

"It serves as a state-of-the-art training facility to serve the women and men that base the entirety of their efforts on training, as well as the administrative hub where decisions, principles and practices will be forged to keep CFR progressing well into the future," Chief Montgomery said.
