Nippon Express (China) begins industrial-academic collaboration with Shanghai Institute of Technology

Nippon Express (China) Co., Ltd. (Tatsuo Sugiyama, Chairman; hereinafter, "NE China"), a local subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Mitsuru Saito, President), has begun industrial-academic collaboration with the Shanghai Institute of Technology (hereinafter, "SIT") with the aim of contributing to society by fostering logistics personnel, particularly specialists in the railway sector.

A full-time university with a School of Rail Transportation, SIT has won numerous awards relating to science and technology and education, and it is developing human resources needed by both society and companies.
NE China has been promoting regional development and cultural exchange through logistics, and this new industrial-academic collaboration with SIT was realized via an introduction from the Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
On Tuesday, September 14, a signing ceremony for a "Friends of Transport Scholarship" program and a ceremony marking the appointment of Managing Executive Officer Sugiyama as an adjunct professor were held, followed by a lecture for students on cross-border rail transport from China to Europe.
Nippon Express will continue actively engaging in social contribution activities in the Asian region to help develop human resources capable of taking on active roles in the logistics industry.
