Information of the Official Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan

Within the framework of the chairmanship of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, on June 24, 2022, the second Meeting of Energy Ministers of the SCO member states will be held in Tashkent.

The heads of the energy ministries of Uzbekistan, China, India, Kazakhstan Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia and Tajikistan will discuss the current state and prospects of energy cooperation, which is of strategic importance for the organization.

As a result of the meeting, the SCO conceptual documents in the energy sector are expected to be approved. These include the Action Plan for the implementation of the concept of energy cooperation of the SCO member states and the draft Program of cooperation of the SCO member states in the field of renewable energy sources, developed at the initiative of Uzbekistan.

The heads of delegations of the SCO member states will also take part in the Energy Forum of Uzbekistan.
